Nick Sirianni tests positive for Covid ahead of Giants game

Posted on December 24, 2021

The Philadelphia Eagles played the Washington Football team on Tuesday, pulling out a 27-17 win. One day after advancing their record to 7-7, head coach Nick Sirianni tested positive for Covid

The team announced the news on Wednesday, placing Sirianni on league protocol. Per the team, Sirianni is symptomatic and has been conducting team meetings virtually.

With Week 16 lingering, two consecutive negative tests 24 hours apart are required before Sirianni can return. If he is unable to come Sunday, passing game coordinator Kevin Patullo will act in his absence.

Sirianni states he is hoping to be cleared. “I’m feeling OK, I’m feeling a little bit better now, which is good.”

“Everything up until game day will be very normal except, I’m not in the building,” he said. “But I’ll be running everything the same way because I’m the head coach. As far as Sunday goes, we’ll play that by ear and see what happens.”

The Eagles will take on the New York Giants next — their second of three games within 13 days. The team also has Le’Raven Clark, Landon Dickerson, and Andre Dillard on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
