Eagles fans have been begging the front office to put a big-time #1 wide receiver on the Eagles roster, and it actually happened. The Eagles acquired AJ Brown on the first night of the 2022 NFL draft for a first- and third-round pick, then gave him a four-year, $100 million contract that includes $57 million in guaranteed money.
The AJ Brown stats that caught Howie’s eye: He had 63 catches for 869 yards and five touchdowns in 13 games last season. He surpassed the 1,000-yard receiving mark in each of his first two seasons, including a 70-catch, 1,075-yard campaign in 2020 when he hauled in a career-best 11 TDs.
“I’m one of the top guys in the league,” Brown said when asked what the trade and new contract say about him. “I’m confident in how I play, what I bring to the table. I’m glad the Eagles believed in me.”
