On Sunday, July 25, EA Sports began releasing their Madden NFL 22 player ratings. The final list was revealed yesterday, July 30, with three Eagles players ranked in the top 10 for their position.
Tight end: Dallas Goedert
Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert finished out the rankings as number 10, ranking 84.
Madden 22 TE ratings
- Travis Kelce: 99
- George Kittle: 96
- Darren Waller: 93

- Hunter Henry: 87
- Austin Hooper: 86
- Rob Gronkowski: 86
- Mike Gesicki: 85
- J. Hockenson: 85
- Dallas Goedert: 84
Goedert is entering his fourth season with the Eagles. Earlier this offseason, many fans thought they would see Goedert as TE1 after rumors regarding a trade for Zach Ertz continued. However, Ertz has been attending training camp this week, making a trade at this point unlikely.
Last season, Goedert finished with 46 receptions, 524 receiving yards, and three touchdowns. More recently, there has been news regarding a contract extension. The extension would be worth approximately $12 to $14 million annually, making him one of the highest-paid tight ends in the league.
This past Wednesday, it was reported that Goedert failed his conditioning test during training camp.
A source stated, “The fourth-year tight and apparently wasn’t slowed as much by his conditioning or lack thereof. He used the wrong technique in a drill, turned the wrong way, and thus finished below the required baseline”.
Defensive line: Fletcher Cox
Fletcher Cox is one of the best players on the Philadelphia Eagles, and luckily EA Sports seems to think so too. Philadelphia selected Cox in the 2012 NFL Draft, and he has climbed his way to success over the seasons. As a six-time Pro Bowler and a Super Bowl champion, Cox was also selected as one of four defensive tackles in 2019 for the NFL 2010’s All-Decade team.
He has totaled 408 combined tackles, 288 solo tackles, and 54.5 sacks, during his time with the Eagles. Fans should continue to be excited for what next season will bring. He ranks No. 2 on Madden 22 defensive line ratings with a 94, below Aaron Donald from the Los Angeles Rams.

- Kenny Clark: 89

Earning the highest rating among his fellow teammates [Goedert and Slay] who also made the Madden 22 list, Cox is currently the highest-paid Eagles player. He has a cap hit number of $23,880,000.
Cornerback: Darius Slay
Darius Slay was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2020 NFL Draft. In the one season Slay has played with the Eagles, he has already become the best cornerback on the roster. He finished last season with 59 combined tackles and one interception [against the Dallas Cowboys].
Occupying the right side, Philadelphia has been searching for a talented cornerback to complement Slay on the left. Last Sunday, those prayers were finally answered. The Eagles signed former Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Steven Nelson to a one-year deal.
