Linebacker Genard Avery is headed to the opposite site of the state. It was announced this past week that the former Eagles’ linebacker is signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The contract will be a one-year deal. There is no word on how much it is worth.
Avery started his career with the Cleveland Browns in 2018. He was drafted in the fifth round of the NDL Draft. His rookie year was his most productive. Avery recorded 40 tackles, 4.5 sacks, four passes defended, and one forced fumble.
In 2019, he was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for a fourth-round pick. Avery played 35 games with the Eagles, completing 60 tackles and three sacks.
The 26-year-old isn’t a whopping playmaker, but he will likely be the depth the Steelers need at outside linebacker. Pittsburgh also has T.J. Watt, Alex Highsmith, and Derek Tuszka.
