EAGLES PRO BOWL LEADERS
Jalen Hurts, Quarterback
In his second full season as starting quarterback, Jalen Hurts is having a breakout year. Not only is Hurts leading the Philadelphia Eagles 13-1, but he’s also leading the league to become MVP.
The 24-year-old currently has 3,472 passing yards, 22 passing touchdowns, 747 rushing yards, and 13 rushing touchdowns in 14 games. Hurts is leading the NFL in rushing touchdowns since the start of the 2021 season (23). He is also tied for the most total touchdowns in a season in Eagles’ franchise history.
Despite Hurts’ five interceptions, which is still the lowest number of interceptions among MVP candidates, he holds a 104.6 passer rating.
According to an NFL release last week, Hurts has accumulated more than 147,956 votes from fans. His former teammate from Alabama, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa from the Miami Dolphins leads all players with 182,118 votes.
Last season, Hurts was named a Pro Bowl alternative.
Jason Kelce, Center
Center Jason Kelce has been named to the Pro Bowl five times, securing a spot over the last three consecutive seasons.
Despite being a fan-favorite in Philadelphia, Kelce is also a respected captain and skillful football player, becoming one of the best in the league. Now in his 12th season, Pro Football Focus has ranked Kelce with an 89.9 overall grade — ranking as the league’s top center.
This season, Kelce surpassed Eagles’ Hall of Fame legend Chuck Bednarik for the most regular-season games played by an offensive lineman. He now has 173 (181 total, including the post-season).
136 of those games also contribute to his consecutive start streak, which has been accumulating since 2015.
An unsurprising favorite, Kelce had 105,182 votes just before the final hours of fan-voting.
Javon Hargrave, Defensive Tackle
The Eagles defense had a rough start, but they’ve been doing so well lately that fans may have forgotten what it was like in the beginning of the season. And, defensive tackle Javon Hargrave has been a massive success.
In 14 games, Hargrave has 49 total tackles, including a career-high of 30 solo tackles. He also has a career-high ten sacks and two fumble recoveries.
Last season he was selected for his first Pro Bowl. This year, he had 91,749 votes, leading all defensive tackles in the NFC.
2023 PRO BOWL
The Philadelphia Eagles had the third-most votes by team this season. Other likely players to make the Pro Bowl are A.J. Brown, Miles Sanders, Jordan Mailata, Lane Johnson, and Brandon Graham. Sadly, Dallas Goedert and C.J. Gardner-Johnson were left off of the ballot due to injuries that placed them on Injured Reserve.
Fan voting ended on Thursday, December 15 and accounts for one-third of the total vote. The remaining votes will come from the league’s fellow players, as well as the coaches. Players and coaches casted their votes last Friday, December 16, but, will be kept quiet until final rosters are announced.
The AFC and NFC rosters for the Pro Bowl will be official on Wednesday, December 21.
This season the game will be a flag football event with skill competitions held in the previous week. The Pro Bowl will be held in Las Vegas on February 5, 2023.
