As the saying goes, “the more haters you have, the more successful you are”.
This week, Philadelphia Eagles’ quarterback Jalen Hurts faced some scrutiny regarding his offseason performance. But, before it could completely ruin everyone’s confidence in the young quarterback, friend and teammate, A.J. Brown, has come to his defense.
FAKE NEWS REGARDING JALEN HURTS
After the 2021 season came to a close, head coach Nick Sirianni announced he would be moving forward with Jalen Hurts in the upcoming season. This became more apparent when the Eagles bypassed a number of opportunities to trade for a quarterback, and began building around Hurts throughout the offseason.
Hurts got to work immediately, training around the country with big-time mentors and fellow NFL players. However, news from the Eagles’ OTA sparked rumors about a questionable performance, according to Eaglers insider Derrick Gunn.
Derrick Gunn stated, “I know it’s a controlled environment. And, like I tell you guys all the time I don’t get too hyped about OTAs, minicamp, and even training camp. Because it’s controlled. But when I asked a few people back in late May about where Jalen Hurts was in his progress, one person said ‘Let me just give you a scenario of what he went through in one day of practice. It’s a 10-play scenario. He had three picks, four incompletions, and three sacks.’
That was his 10-play series, OK. And I follow up with ‘So what are you thinking?’ And the answer was, the direct answer was, ‘He’s got a ways to go.’ And that’s not very encouraging when you hear all this offseason news [about how] he’s working with this quarterback guru, he’s working on his mechanics, he has a second year in Nick Siriannia’s playbook.”

This morning, Eagles’ new wide receiver A.J. Brown took to Hurts’ defense, stating the rumors about the quarterback are fake.
That practice stuff about Jalen is fake . Y’all tweet and believe anything. Like how can he get sacked on 7on7 and there aren’t any rushers. I believe water is above us . Believe that too and make a article about that too . This app is crazy 😂

Hurts and Brown are long-time friends, and fans have been anticipating watching the duo play together. For now, we’ll have to wait and see what Hurts’ performance is like with our own two eyes.
Eagles training camp begins in just 15 days.
