Former Eagles defensive back coach Dennard Wilson has been hired by the Baltimore Ravens for the same position, the team announced Tuesday.
Wilson was bypassed for the Eagles’ defensive coordinator job last week, the position going to Sean Desai. The Inquirer reported Monday that Wilson had been fired after a contentious meeting with Eagles coach Nick Sirianni.
The Eagles were the NFL’s top defense against the pass in 2022. Wilson joined the Eagles in 2021 when Sirianni was named head coach.
- “Dennard joining our defensive coaching staff is a strong addition to our team, and he will help us continue to develop our players and scheme in the strongest possible way,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said.
- “Dennard is a proven coach who has brought the best out of his units consistently throughout his NFL career. His history of working with defensive backs at the highest level will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to our room.”
Wilson, 40, will begin his 12th season as an NFL coach and ninth season coaching defensive backs. He also has coached with the Rams and Jets, after four years working as a pro scout with the Bears.
