A.J. Brown Jr. is the pair’s second child. Their first, a daughter, named Jersee, is Eagles’ quarterback Jalen Hurts’ god-daughter.
“My emotions really came when my daughter saw her brother for the first time,” Brown said. “That was big for me. She loves it. She call him Baby Brother.”
Brown returned to practice on Friday morning.
“It was definitely a breath of fresh air. Just to get outside. I’ve been in the hospital for like 48 hours straight. Just to get some fresh air and be around the guys. They welcomed me and supported me while I was gone.”
The wide receiver will luckily be back in time for Philadelphia’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The game, set for 1 PM at Lincoln Financial Field, will also be a welcoming for former head coach Doug Pederson. The Eagles will look to extend their lead in the NFC East, and hope to remain the sole undefeated team in the league.
In three games, Brown has contributed 20 catches for 309 receiving yards and one touchdown. He is the second Eagle in the last 40 years with 69+ yards in each of the first three games. Sunday’s game will now mean more after the birth of his son.
Brown stated, “It just wasn’t about me. It wasn’t about me anymore. I play this game because I want to be the best, but also I want to provide for my family, too. Now that I have a little boy, a little son, it means the world to me. Hopefully, I can play long enough for him to understand that his dad’s in the NFL.”
