After an unexpected loss to the New York Giants last Sunday, the Philadelphia Eagles are returning to the Meadowlands today to play the New York Jets.
The Birds are 11-0 against the Jets — the best record by a team against an opponent in NFL history. With a 5-7 record, Philadelphia is now looking to add another win before they enter their bye week.

EAGLES VS. JETS PREDICTIONS
Philadelphia Eagles, 24-13
I’m nervous about picking the Eagles today based on last week’s performance, but the Jets are showing very little potential this season. With 11 consecutive wins against New York, I don’t think this week is the one where the Jets finally make a stand.
For the first time this season, quarterback Jalen Hurts will miss a game due to an ankle injury leaving Gardner Minshew to start. As a Philadelphia fan, you have to wonder if the Eagles are playing it safe by resting Hurts an additional week, or is there genuine interest in evaluating Minshew. In 20 starts, Minshew has played more games than Hurts with a 93.1 passer rating. His only time in midnight green this season was against the Detroit Lions in the fourth quarter. Minshew completed two for two for 11 yards.
Whoever the quarterback, the Eagles should continue to extend their run game. Boston Scott, who was listed as questionable due to an illness, is expected to play as Jordan Howard will miss his second consecutive week. After last week’s performance (or lack thereof), fans should also see more of tight end Dallas Goedert and wide receiver DeVonta Smith.
The defense will likely also have a strong game. After a rocky start to the season, they have certainly gotten it together over the last few weeks. Fans have been waiting for Javon Hargrave to surpass his career-high sacks, and we may see it today. In seven games, Jets’ quarterback Zach Wilson has been sacked 23 times. He has ten interceptions and is on pace to become the worst first-round pick since 2009 with a passer rating of 62.9 — very unlikely stats to turn it around today.
The Eagles make it 12-0 today against the Jets.
Kickoff is at 1 PM.
