Philadelphia Eagles to hire former Pittsburgh Steelers’ scouting director

The Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers are doing quite the swap.

Last week, Eagles’ vice president of player personnel, Andy Weidl, was hired by the Steelers. Now, Philadelphia is to hire former Pittsburgh scouting director, Brandon Hunt. The news was reported by league source, Geoff Mosher of Inside the Birds.

BRANDON HUNT TO JOIN NEW PENNSYLVANIA TEAM

The Pittsburgh Steelers originally hired Brandon Hunt in 2005 as an intern. From 2007 to 2009, Hunt moved to a full-time position with the Houston Texans, but returned to Pittsburgh in 2010 as pro-scouting director.

Recently, the Steelers made some big moves to their front office, finding new personnel for their general manager and assistant general manager positions. Despite interviewing Hunt twice for the position, Pittsburgh hired Omar Khan as general manager. The Steelers then hired former Eagle, Andy Weidl, as their assistant GM.

Once Hunt realized his days were limited in Pittsburgh, he interviewed with the Eagles, Raiders, and Bills for a front office position. According to former NFL Network reporter Aditi Kinkhabwala, Hunt “could be in line” for a Vice President title in Philadelphia.
