As of Monday, July 26, the Philadelphia Eagles have signed all nine 2021 NFL Draft picks to their rookie contracts. Second-round selection, offensive lineman Landon Dickerson was the last to do so.
PREPPING FOR CENTER
Dickerson began his collegiate career at Florida State, transferring to Alabama for his final two years of NCAA eligibility. He was named right guard, eventually moving to center despite never playing at the position before.
Before leaving for the NFL, Dickerson was named second-team All-Southeastern Conference, first-team All-SEC, and a unanimous All-America selection. He was deemed as the nation’s best center, taking the Rimington Trophy.
The Philadelphia Eagles selected Dickerson in the second round with the 37th overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft. Though the team has veteran Jason Kelce, the plan is for Dickerson to eventually take over following Kelce’s retirement. As of now, Dickerson is recovering from a knee injury and has been unable to fully participate in the Eagles’ offseason.
However, just one day ahead of training camp, Dickerson came to terms and signed his rookie contract.
