The Philadelphia Eagles are back in practice after cutting their playoff chances by more than half. After a terrible loss on Sunday to the New York Giants, quarterback Jalen Hurts is now dealing with an ankle injury and is day to day. The team is now prepping backup quarterback Gardner Minshew for Week 13.

On a day Minshew was supposed to be off, he was at the NovaCare Complex.
Offensive coordinator Shane Steichen stated, “[Minshew is] in here today so we’ll talk to him today. But really we’re getting ready for Jalen (to play) and we’ll go from there.”
Given that Hurts excels in the run game, an ankle injury would be a huge hindurance for Sunday’s upcoming game. Despite a poor performance this past weekend, Hurts has 2,435 passing yards, 13 passing touchdowns, 695 rushing yards, and eight rushing touchdowns. He is currently Philadelphia’s leading rusher.
Head coach Nick Sirianni is hoping to have a better idea of Hurts’ timetable on Wednesday after two days of rehab.
If Minshew does play Sunday against the New York Jets, it will be his first full game in midnight green. He has been with Philadelphia since August after he was traded from the Jacksonville Jaguars. He has been active for five games (since Joe Flacco was traded). However, his only time on the field was late in the game against the Detroit Lions. Minshew played 14 snaps, completing both of his passes for 11 yards.
