On Tuesday morning, the NFL announced that another Philadelphia Eagle was selected for this year’s Pro Bowl. Defensive end Josh Sweat will make his first appearance, replacing San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa. Bosa is unable to participate due to an injury.

The Eagles drafted Sweat in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft. This season he agreed to a three-year contract extension, having a breakout year. Sweat started in 13 games, completing a career-high 45 tackles, 7.5 sacks, and 13 quarterback hits. The defensive end missed Philadelphia’s playoff game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after undergoing an emergency procedure.
This season will be the second consecutive year the Eagles will have a defensive end in the Pro Bowl.
Sweat is Philadelphia’s fifth player to be selected. He is joining kicker Jake Elliott (who was named on Monday), defensive tackle Javon Hargrave, and cornerback Darius Slay. Center Jason Kelce was also selected, however, as of Tuesday evening he backed out.
The Pro Bowl is scheduled for Sunday, February 6 at 3 PM at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
