Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts will not play today against the Saints but will be available, if needed, next weekend against the Giants, according to an ESPN report.
Hurts suffered a right shoulder sprain on Dec. 18 against the Bears and didn’t play last weekend against Dallas. In the Eagles’ injury report Friday, Hurts was listed as “doubtful”, meaning there was a 25 percent chance he could play.
Hurts could be available next weekend but the Eagles might not need him. If the Eagles win today, they clinch the NFC East and home-field for the playoffs. If the Eagles lose today, they will need to defeat the Giants to win the East and earn home-field.
Gardner Minshew will start at quarterback today against New Orleans.
The Eagles also will be without injured starting right tackle Lane Johnson, nickel back Avonte Maddox and safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson.
