A.J. Brown’s performance gets the man behind his trade fired

Posted on December 7, 2022

A.J. Brown has to be feeling incredible about himself.

Not only did he get a win over his former team, but the man who orchestrated his departure from Tennessee – the place where Brown said he could’ve seen himself spending his entire career – is out the door.

On Tuesday, the Titans announced the firing of general manager Jon Robinson. It’s a somewhat surprising given their 7-5 record and first-place standing.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the team “wasn’t happy with the direction of the roster assembled.”

Certainly hard to blame them after they traded away their star receiver. During the draft day video of the moment, several Titans officials – including head coach Mike Vrabel – appeared to be visibly upset.

Brown’s trade was likely one of many continual mistakes that led to Robinson’s axing, but it seems his 2-touchdown performance was too great of a sting to ignore.

Brown once again gets the last laugh

Brown desiring to one-up the Titans at every turn is well documented beyond this past Sunday’s game. Early in November, Brown took a shot at the team’s wide receiving core after none were able to bring in a catch against the Chiefs.

Brown also tweeted a link to a shirt with the caption “Swole Batman AKA The Terminator” Tuesday afternoon, though in a now-deleted tweet, Brown insists it wasn’t aimed at Robinson.

“I will never kick another man while he’s down. The shirts was made few days ago. My eye has been red for two weeks now. That’s not who I am.”

Brown’s probably telling the truth about the weird coincidence. However, those shirts were also likely made for when the Eagles knocked off the Titans. In any case, it’s a fitting nickname for a man who’s killing the spirits of any team that sets foot in the Linc.
