A.J. Brown fined for celebration during game against former team

Philadelphia Eagles’ wide receiver A.J. Brown has to pay up yet again for unsportsmanlike conduct. The check this time will be written for $13,261.

During Sunday’s game against Brown’s former team, the Tennessee Titans, the receiver celebrated a 41-yard touchdown by spanking the field goal post with a towel. The touchdown was reversed due to his toe stepping outside of the end zone. However, Brown scored on the very next drive keeping the Eagles in the lead by seven points.

Following the 35-10 victory, Brown told reporters his celebration was a message to the Titans.

“Today I’m gonna have to give you this whooping, but I still love you,” said Brown.

Brown caught 10 passes for 119 yards and two touchdowns. Now in his first season with the Eagles, he leads in receiving yards (950), yards per reception (15.6), yards per game (79.2), and touchdowns (9).

Just a few short weeks ago, Brown was also fined for his touchdown celebration during a win against the Pittsburgh Steelers. After receiving a $10k bill, he vowed to keep his hands to himself on social media. To be fair, he didn’t say anything about a towel.

Brown and the Eagles will now continue their first-place journey on Sunday. They travel up the turnpike to play the New York Giants at 1 PM.
